Special Notice:  On Saturday, October 30th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, we are going to be          having a book signing / meet the author's party.  The authors of "Clovis Road", the Roy B Hunt, MD murders Bob & Dana Middlebrooks Samuelson, will be here to sell and or autograph their book for you and to answer any questions you might have.  This is going to be a special and fun time, so we are asking all of you to join us for this special treat.  There will be refreshments, etc. served.  Anyone wanting to be a hostess of sorts for this, just call the museum at 385-9001 and let me know.  See you there.

We hold several fund raisers every year, and coming up is one of our most successful.  It is our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon.  This year it will be held on November 12th, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.  We will serve the usual Turkey, Dressing and giblet gravy with other vegetables and desserts from out great group of volunteers. (Thank you God for these wonderful people)  Plus it will be held here at the Museum at 520 Waylon Jennings Blvd. and you can see the changes we have made to our artifacts.  Please join us for this function.  The cost is $8.00 per adult and $4.00 for children six (6) and under.  We also offer carry-out so please call your order to 385-9001 and Kathy Wade will be glad to take your order and (hopefully) it will ready when you get here.  Give us at least 15 minutes lead time.

Another great time we have is our Barn Dances.  We schedule these around home-coming and other events that are going on and always have a great time.  We usually serve Frito Pie, Bar-B-Q Wraps, Nachos and various snacks along with your choice of drinks, including water and coffee.  Always before we have had a dessert to offer, once it was Brownies for $1.00 and this past June it was free birthday cake in honor of Waylon Jennings.  The bands are always great, and the home-schoolers love it.  It is a way to practice their dancing with-in a family oriented space.  We do not allow any alcohol or smoking so it a family atmosphere.  As soon as we schedule our next dance, it will be published right here, so check in often for the latest.

Another very successful and wonderful time is the Wine Tasting we have each June.  A native of Littlefield, Sally Davidson Cookson comes and brings wine from her Holy Cross Abbey Winery in Canon City, Colorado.  Since you can't buy the product locally, Sally will take orders and ship when she gets back to Colorado. The wine is fabulous, the snacks delicious and the atmosphere superb.  The cost for this is $15.00 per couple and $10.00 per single.  I will publish the time for the next one on the web, so as I said before, check in often.

Of course, one of the best things around, is our cookbook "Lamb County Through The Years".  The recipes are absolutely great, and the stories and pictures are funny, informative and very readable.  The cost of this cookbook is $25.00, tax included and if you want one mailed, please add $5.00 for postage.  I will get it off to you as soon as I receive you money, and I think you will be very proud of it.  It makes a wonderful gift at anytime, Birthday, Christmas, Anniversary and anything else you can think.  Maybe just because you are thinking of someone and want to do something special for them.  Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
